ASP Hosting Review - MyHosting.com
By October 2014 my dedicated servers with Immedion were crashing and dying. I had to move off - and by this point virtual servers had established themselves as trustworthy and reliable. I decided to take the plunge. I didn't want to stay with Immedion for pressure-to-upgrade reasons. After researching around I decided MyHosting had great reviews and was worth going to.
I set up two VPS machines, one for my non-BellaOnline sites and one for my BellaOnline site. I did NOT want Plesk - but that's what they gave me on both systems.
It was a nightmare.
Everything was installed into hard-to-get-to subdirectories. The security was set up in a bizarre fashion so that every time I wanted to get to a username (like USR) to give it rights to a directory I had to drill down to location, hit cancel, choose a different machine, and then I could see my own usernames. It added time to every operation I did.
Speaking of which, remote desktop into the machines was PAINFULLY slow. It would take five minutes to bring up an IIS interface. Everything crawled. I kept saying that something had to be wrong with this thing but they told me it was behaving properly.
When I chatted with technical requests they'd say "Oh we'll have that fixed in ten minutes." I'd ask for an update within an hour. Three hours would go by with no response. This happened EVERY TIME. I have email after email begging them for updates. Then they'd finally get back to me and it appeared they weren't even working on the issue.
Any time I needed to reboot a machine it was over an hour before it came back - and it'd come back with half the services stopped.
I signed up for a six month contract and as soon as that contract was up, I gave up. I moved over to 247host.
